Football cookies-Tutorial

Guess what? it is football season!! and while many of us -girls-are only with Thanksgiving on our minds, there are many guys out there thinking only football. Of course, they are not the ones who have to cook a turkey, make stuffing and yummy pies. They are only available to eat. mmmm that would provably be me, except for the fact that I am not much of a football fan. See, I grew up watching soccer games back home, it wasn't until I came  to the US that I new what football was.

Any way, for the football lovers out there...here are some easy cookies I made for my friends over at The Cookie Cutter Company. These football cookies are a tasty treat for a game party, team fundraiser or a championship celebration at your kid’s school. They fit any age group, from young to old and the best part is that they are super easy to decorate. Perfect for any beginner cookie decorator.

Supplies you will need to make these cookies:

-Cheerleader cookie cutter
-Football cookie cutter
-Football helmet cookie cutter

-Small brush
-Black sanding sugar
-Silver Color Mist™ Food Color Spray
-Pastry bags, couplers and tip #1 and #2

CHEERLEADER COOKIE

1-Outline cookie
2-Flood cookie and let it dry overnight
3-Spray the cookie with Silver Color Mist™ Food Color Spray and let it dry for a few minutes
4-Outline and flood the inside of the cookie forming a black cheerleader silhouette ( you still want to leave some silver outline). While the black icing is still wet, sprinkle on black sanding sugar and shake off the excess.

FOOTBALL COOKIE

-Outline and flood the cookie. Let it dry overnight, then using tip #1 outline the stitching on the football cookie.
And of course, if you notice, I totally forgot to add the football side lines,I told you I am not much of an expert in the football field. So I took a small brush with a dab of water and brushed the sides to mark the lines and not leave the cookie too plain.

FOOTBALL HELMET COOKIE

1-Outline the cookie using tip #2
2-Flood the cookie and let it dry completely.
3- Spray the cookie with Silver Color Mist™ Food Color Spray and let it dry for a few minutes.
4.5-Outline the cookie with black icing and detail the helmet. Sprinkle on black sanding sugar and shake off the excess.

  1. I happened to make football themed cookies twice this week! Once for my oldest son's high school team's end of season party, then again for my great nephew's jr football team. The nice thing is both their teams have the same colors. Whew!

  2. And just so you know, not all football's have the white sides and those that do only have the white sides on the top half of the ball. The white doesn't wrap all the way around the ball. So, you weren't wrong after all!
