Emergency Room and Sesame Street Cake

I know this is an interesting title for my post, but I have had a really hectic weekend. Saturday and Sunday we spend the night at the emergency room, the baby had a really bad temperature and a stomach virus. Thank God she is feeling way better now, she is eating and she seems more active, we have been really worry. Here is here today with a little purse that my mom made for her and send it from Costa Rica.
In the middle of all this health issues I had to make a cake, some how I did it with the help of my husband ( no , he didn't decorate the cake with me, he watched the baby) This is Cami on our way to deliver the cake, she doesn't look good, so our idea was to say hi, since the birthday boy was my godson and then leave. That's exactly what we did, said hi and left to the hospital again, her fever was 104 and we spend the night there.

This is the birthday boy, just look at his adorable smile. He was really happy seen Elmo.
Here are a few details, my original idea was to make the characters out of fondant and using royal icing for their details, but that takes a lot of time and I really didn't have it. The fastest solution was run to Michal's and buy them .

The cake, as you can see has 3 tiers, I made Red Velvet with cream cheese frosting and vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream.

Oh my... what we cakers won't do for our creations! I'm so glad the little one is feeling better. Not fun to have such a high fever... poor little thing!
