Sleepy Little Lamb Cookies

Well, I am channeling one of my favorite cookie decorators today, Sweet Sugar Belle. She always come up with the best ideas and I decided to take her approach using cookie cutters when I had the idea of making this baby lamb cookies for my friends over at The Cookie Cutter Company..

I used this Linzer Flower cutter, this is a great size shape and it can be used for multiple designs, think sunflowers, the sun for summer, spring flowers, this baby lambs and daisies.

By the way,  The Cookie Cutter Company is now offering pastry bags, tips and couplers, they want to make the company, the ONLY stop for all your cookie needs and are working hard to bring you the latest products and cutters in the market, fun surprises and coupon codes are coming in the next few weeks.

These cookies would be a great option for your Easter treats this year.
Let me show you what you are going to need:

Linzer Flower cookie cutter

Mini Round ornament cutter

Couplers, pastry bags,tip #1 and #2
Americolor bright white, red and black
Small amount of white fondant and modeling tool ( you always can use a tooth pick instead of the modeling tool)
sprinkles in color of your choice
grass and small star tip

Outline and flood the body and the hoof of the lamb. Let the cookies dry over night.

For the head, outline and flood with tip #2 and set aside to dry. When the head is completely dry, add the facial features, mouth, a few lines for the eyes, forehead detail and a little heart for the nose using Tip #1.

Form  the small long pointed ears with a small amount of fondant

Now the fun part begins, using the small #16 star tip, pipe all over the cookie
starting around the head and moving to the rest of the body.
Attach the ears to the side of the head

Here is the one I made using the grass tip ( notice the sanding sugar on the hoofs)

Happy Friday! and have a wonderful weekend!
