Halloween Cake-Cute Witch Face Mini tutorial

Happy Friday!! The spirit of Halloween has finally arrived at my house. Well, it actually has been there for a while but time is always against me and just now I had the time to make a cute Halloween cake to share with you.
A simple cute face of a witch and small bat and ghost cookie cutters make this cake a cute little treat for any Halloween party.

This face took me pretty much no time to make, and was easy to make.Let me show you how...

You will need:

.Satin Ice orange fondant for the hair
.skin tone color fondant for the face and ears
.black Satin Ice fondant for the eyes
.purple or color of your choice for the hat
.witch hat cookie cutter, I got mine from Michael's
.oval cutter for the face, but you can always use a round cutter and work the face's shape with your fingers.
.small brush
.food marker
.pink pearl dust

Instructions:

1-Roll the fondant out and cut the face, pull the top of the face (forehead) a little, that's where you are going to be placing the hair.
2-Roll two little pieces of fondant between your fingers to make the ears, use a modeling tool to give them a little indentation in the middle.

3-Cut the witch hat and set aside
4-Make the hair, start adding little flat pieces of fondant around the face. Then roll small pieces of fondant between your fingers and place them around the face and on top of the flat hair. Attach the hair with a dab of water and don't pres them hard against the other pieces that you already have in place. You want to give the hair some movement.

5-Using your finger, roll small pieces of fondant and form the eyes and eyebrows.Attach them with a dab of water.
6-Make the nose, and buckle for the hat.
7-I used a food marker to draw the mouth and a small brush to apply pink pearl dust for the chicks.

And this is how the face will end up looking.
Have a great weekend and thank you again for stopping my blog.

Elephant Indian Theme Birthday Cake

Happy Monday!
I am so excited to have this cake on my blog today.

If any of you follow me on Instagram , I am sure you have seeing how busy I have been this past weeks, I actually finished my busy week with this cake. All my Halloween plans regarding post have been delay, I do have some cute little cookies waiting for me to be decorated, so this week is a little slow for me and I am looking forward to get to them.

Well, what can I say...I am so thankfull for my awesome client for giving me the opportunity  to do something that I had never done before and for trusting me making the cake for her little boy's 2nd birthday party.
Making an Indian theme cake involving some difficult piping was very challenging and time consuming, but I do not regreat a bit of it.

I have to say that I am very pleased how the cake turned out. I love the colors my client choose for the cake and the little sugar elephant turned out cute also.

I hope you all have a great start of the week.Thank you for stopping by.

Small Birthday Cake for my baby

This past weekend, my baby girl turned 1 and we had a couple little parties for her.
We did a little something for her at the Daycare, a very low key birthday since she is still in the baby room and babies do not eat cake, of course!. Although the teaches were really happy to eat the cake for them.

This is the little cake I made for her. A 4" chocolate cake filled and frosted with Swiss Meringue buttercream. I was hopping she would try it, but she didn't.
Well, she will have plenty of opportunities to try mommy's cakes.
Happy Birthday to my little Princess, she is my little miracle already starting to walk and talk.

Elephant Cake Topper

Time fly so fast. Tomorrow my beautiful baby girl is turning 1 year old. She is a handfull, crawling and standing by herself all over the house. Big sister is not enjoying this time since the baby wants everything in her room, including toys, big books and anything big that she can get in her hands.

oh boy!! sometimes, I am not sure if I am coming or going battling between both girls. But I am enjoying this time as much as I can.

We are going to be having a little baby party at the Daycare. On Sunday, we will have the party with our family and a few friends at home. I am quite excited for the theme I selected, elephants. If you read this blog you know how much I enjoy making little elephants out of sugar, and I think this theme fits my baby perfectly since her name begins with the letter E.

I was very fortunate that my dear blog friend Pam from Pamela Smerker Designs, designed a custom art for the party. If you are in Instagram you have probably seeing the super cute Gable Boxes that she made. Pam is also a cofunder of D&P Celebrations, so most of the custom party decor was made and designed by her.

Any way, today I wanted to show you the cake toppers I made for the cake and the cupcakes.
This is the big topper for the cake.

And these little elephants are for the cupcakes.

Well, I hope you all have a great weekend, I can't wait to show you the rest of the party set up next week.

October Cake Artist of the Month- Royal Bakery

I couldn't be more excited to introduce you today to Royal Bakery  as guest for my monthly post "Cake Artist of the Month".

I came across Lesley's Facebook page a few weeks ago and I spent a good few hours seeing her beautiful and unique cake designs.
I couldn't pass the opportunity to show you some of her beautiful cakes and share a  little inside about her.

Lesley Wright is English, but has lived in California for two years. She has been baking ‘full-time’ for just over a year, and counts herself as very lucky that she doesn’t have to do a proper job as well! She is also self-taught, and spends a lot of time online researching decorating methods and techniques.
She creates tutorials for most of the cakes she makes on her Facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/theroyalbakery – and spends the rest of the time thinking, talking or writing about cake. Although she’d rather eat a bag of potato chips than a slice of cake, she’s a big fan of chocolate ganache and is often to be seen eating leftovers with a spoon.

Isn't she so talented?
Please, stop by her page and say hi.

Thank you Lesley for allowing me to use some of your pictures in my blog and accepting my invitation.
