Beach Theme-Bridal Shower Cookies

Bridal shower cookies shipped to PA. I have to say that after holding my breath for a day they all made it in one piece, not even one broken. I am totally loving my client's color scheme for the event.
I really liked all the flip flops I made, I felt like I was in Old Navy, where I can get 4 pairs of flip flops and pay only $10, oh, the little joys I find in life!

So, are you getting ready for your long weekend? and I imagine most of you are lucky enough to have Monday off also? very lucky, I am going to be working, no day off for me! :(

Minnie Mouse Cake

Here is my Minnie Mouse cake everyone.
On Friday I baked and frosted the cake. Yesterday at 9:30 pm I started to decorate it. This morning I dusted the whole cake with luster dust and delivered it very early in the morning. I placed the Minnie Mouse cake topper on  the second tier when I got to my client's house. The bottom tier is vanilla buttermilk cake with strawberry buttercream and the top tier is vanilla buttermilk cake with vanilla pudding. I hand made the little girl's name , my intention was to use my new CriCut Cake machine but I couldn't figure out how to use it. I guess that's on my to do list for this week.

I hope you like it. Have a wonderful week full of blessings everyone.

Bee well...cookies

A few weeks ago I found these adorable cookie cutters on sale, I got them and I was waiting for the right moment to use them. And went I got the "do what ever you want" cookie order, I was so ready to use them and play with  the black and color cookie technique that the super cookie ladies have done lately. ( super cookie ladies links are on the right side of my panel.) I do need more practice and the black royal icing turn out a little runny , but here they are.

I hope you all are having a wonderful week so far. Thank you for stopping by.

Lollipop Cookies

I made these lollipops cookies for a cake, at the end I didn't use them. So instead of giving them away, they went straight to my tummy waist.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone, thank you again for your encouraging comments about Minnie.
The cake is due next week, I can't wait to share the pictures with you.

Your honesty will be appreciated

I just finished baby Minnie mouse.
Her bow is drying and I still have to paint her dress.
I really, really need to know what do you think. I promise I won't be upset if your feedback tells me that Minnie doesn't look like Minnie, I rather you telling me than my client or my worst fear..CAKE WRECKS.
If you feel more comfortable you can leave an anonymous comment, just be gentle.
This is for a very important client and I have to make sure everything is almost perfect.
Thank you so much!

UPDATE: Thank you everyone for your honesty and your lovely comments.
Regarding a few questions from you:
-The Minnie is going to be a cake topper, she is not made out of cake.
 -She is 7 inches tall.
-I made it using rice crispy treats and gumpaste.
-I agree about making the #2 in a different color, but my client wanted the number in white.
-I totally agree with the pointy nose, I tried to fix it but it didn't work, I decided to leave like that before making a terrible mistake.

From the archives...Wedding Cookies

A few months ago I made cookie favors for a wedding. This cookie below was the winning favor, since I made a few samples for the bride. I have to say that I had a bittersweet experience with this order, maybe that's the reason I had buried these pictures some where on my computer's hard drive. I do not make cookies often and I am very aware that I still have a lot to go regarding cookie decorating, I have been going to cookie school lately, maybe in the future I can get some type of degree LOL.  Special thanks to Shelly, who took the time of explaining me how to pack and ship these cookies, I have to say her method worked very well because all cookies made it in one piece.
My learning experience with this order: My client's definition of plain and simple- I want you to use  black sugar on the cookie "some where", is not my same definition of plain and simple ( I hate don't like black sugar on a white cookie). A few samples I made...
Have a wonderful week everyone!

Pink Peony Birthday cake

When I have to make sugar flowers for a cake, I always make a few extra for a last minute cake order. Flowers are an easy way to add an elegant touch to any cake. Weeks ago I had to make some sugar flowers for one of  these cakes and I made a few extra peonies  "just in case".
Well here is a last minute cake that looks really cute!
I hope everyone have a wonderful weekend, around here the weather this week hasn't being the best, hopefully we will get some sun over the weekend. Are you enjoying your summer already?

Elmo Cake, Elmo Cookie Favors and Mini Elmo Cake

I made this Elmo birthday cake a few weeks ago for a birthday party. The cake is vanilla buttermilk with strawberry buttercream and fresh strawberries.

I made Elmo using a combination of rice crispy treats, gumpaste for the eyes and nose and red buttercream. Number 1 is made out of gumpaste

I also made Elmo cookie favors for the guest.

And last but not least I made a very small birthday cake for the little boy, his mom wanted something really cute and very small for her son to enjoy, smash or just have fun. I think it came out really cute.

I hope you find some inspiration with thess pics next time you have to make and Elmo cake. Have a wonderful week everyone.

Why should I have birthday candles in my house?

After  the past few weeks making...
Chocolate cupcakes with Vanilla Frosting
Vanilla Buttermilk cake with strawberry mousse and chocolate frostingChocolate cupcakes with cream cheese and chocolate frosting

Banana cupcakes with peanut butter frosting plus 50 cookies and 3 more cakes...
The only thing I really wanted to do on Sunday was seeing my little girl blowing bubbles. My husband in the other hand wanted a little birthday party for me. See, I don't really like his idea of "party", it usually means that I cook, I do the shopping, I do the cleaning before and after. ( all of this because I think I am the only one who can do it right), but not this time. he did everything himself. And then the question comes...do I make my own birthday cake? and the answer is NO! I don't really want to bake more and I don't want to eat cake.
So my wonderful husband said that a birthday without a cake is not a birthday, which I totally agree, he went and got me and ice cream cake from Cold Stone.
And then, we have to sing.... oh but wait... he looks at me and ask me where are the birthday candles? What? I do not have birthday candles in the house. Why should I have birthday candles in the house? oh, someone said:  you make cakes and you don't have candles! yes, I do make cakes but it doesn't mean that I have to have candles or forks or plates for my clients/ family in my house all the time. Plus it is my birthday, I am not the one who has to worry about having candles in the house. As you can see, he is very creative!
I have to say that the cake was really good, we all love it and my husband did everything  by himself
