My Egg Issues and a Sugarlicious Book Giveaway

The major Easter issue I have is that I do not get the concept of bunnies and eggs together. When I moved here years ago, I kept seeing eggs all over the place around Easter time, I asked and asked around why eggs? I never got an answer. Now I just go with the flow and enjoy making Easter baskets for my little girls, including lots of eggs of course.

I also have other issues... like a 4 year old splashing water on my cookies before taking pictures of them for the blog. But that's another story.

And since I haven't had a giveaway in a few months I thought this was the perfect time to
giveaway my friend Meaghan's book, Sugarlicious.

I am totally assuming you already have it, but you always can get an extra copy for a friend or family member right?

I am including other goodies in the giveaway too.
But first you might have to put up with my water tinted cookie pictorial.

and there are some eggs that just want to run away....

Sprinkles, lollipops and marshmallows will come with the book.
You know how talented Meaghan is with marshmallows, and her book is full of very easy to follow instructions not only to make super cute marshmallow pops but also cupcakes, cookies
and my new favorite ...candy clay.
Whether you are a beginner or a pro in the sweets departments, this book is for you.

See what I am saying...totally adorable.

So, what do you have to do to win this giveaway?

Very simple, just leave me a comment telling me what are you cooking for Easter
Since I will be home alone with the girls, I like to torture myself thinking in what others are doing with their families.

For extra entries:
post the giveaway on Facebook or Twitter

Giveaway will be closed on Easter Sunday at midnight. Winner will be announce in this post on Monday April 9th.
Winner has 48 hours to respond after being notified before another winner is drawn

Good luck and Happy Easter!

The winner is here!!! Congratulations Natalie and thank you everyone for entering the giveaway, I had a great time reading all the yummy things you were going to make on Easter.

Natalie said... I'm cooking nothing for Easter.
But I will bring a roast chicken to my mother in laws because I don't like ham.

Mr.Bunny,Carrots, Bunnies-Easter Cookies

Do you love making Easter Cookies as much as I do?

To make these Easter cookies you will need the following cutters from The Cookie Cutter Company:

You also will need the following supplies:

.Royal icing in white, yellow, pink, orange, green, purple and black (flood consistency and stiff for outlining and details)
.Nonpareils
.Ribbon color of your choice, I loved the pink!
.Tip #1 and 2
.Black edible writer
.Squeeze bottles, couplers and decorating bags

Bunny Cookies

For the white bunny, pipe two lines of stiff white icing for the ears with tip 2 and a big dot on the tail area for the tail .Add the nonpareils on tail and ears and let them set for a few minutes before dumping off the excess .

This is how the tail is going to look, adorable!

Use tip #1 to pipe the whiskers and eye. One dot of pink icing will be the nose

For the yellow bunny, I just pipe dots of pink icing for the tail and the ears, because pink makes everything pretty!

Hop...hop!!

Pictorial for the Easter Egg...
Easter egg cookies are super easy to make, use your imagination and play around until you get a design that you like. There are so many designs you can make using lines, scallop shapes and dots.

Mr. Bunny's face can't get any easier.

While the icing is still wet, pipe two purple tear shapes on each ear area.  Drag a toothpick through the shapes to create a little bit of marbling effect. Let cookie dry over night before adding all the facial details

And we can't make bunny cookies without having carrots around.

I used tip #1 to make the leaves.
Have a good weekend everyone.

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post for The Cookie Cutter Company

Outline and flood the cookies and let them dry overnight.

Easter Chicks Cupcake Toppers

My little girl loves to play with play dough, she actually calls it cake, since she sees me working with gumpaste or fondant when I make cake details, she really thinks play dough is fondant. She already knows is a special kind that we don't eat, and believe me, I have tried to explain her the proper name but it hasn't worked so far.

This mini cupcakes toppers are inspired by my little girl's love for her "cake dough". They are very simple and easy to make, they would be a great addition to Easter Sunday kid's treats table.

Bake and frost your cupcakes using your favorite recipe and frosting. Dress your cupcakes with cupcakes wrappers, I found mine at Bake it Pretty.

All the mini chicks are made pretty much the same, oval shapes for the body and hand shape beak and comb.

To make the chicks toppers you will need:

-Fondant in colors of your choice.
-Mini Cupcake pan
-Round cookie cutter ( I used a scallop one)
-Brush ( to dip in water and attach the "body parts" )
-Small rolling pin
-Black food writer ( I only had blue, so that's what I used)
-Ball tool ( optional)
-Modeling stick ( I used it to make the holes in the chick's head, you can also do it using a tooth pick)

Totally forgot to post these...

These super easy cupcakes I made them for Cami's Daycare Easter party, the bunny marshmallow toppers in some of the cupcakes were a hit!  For some cupcakes I tinted the vanilla buttercream with lime green and then I added cute bunny sprinkles
In another note, not related to Easter or cupcakes...
I found the cutest molds in Target for $1 ( packet of 6 molds) they had flowers and butterflies .It can't get better than that. I tested them and they work fantastic if you have a Target close to you go and get some.
I even got some for Cami, and yes those are Lucas's ears, I didn't crop the picture.
