My First Topsy Turvy Cake...haaaaaaaaaaa

This cake was a big challenge for me. I wouldn't have been able to pull it off without the help of Melody's tutorial. Here is the link because it is really worth it: www.mysweetandsaucy.com/2009/02/. This is my dining table/work table on a typical Friday night. I baked all the cakes on Friday, let them cool and frosted them and put them back in the refrigerator over night. The cake was vanilla cake with a very rich chocolate buttercream . I used lime green and hot pink colors. I decorated the sides of the cake with fondant cut-outs, then I made fondant pearls to go around the second tier.

This is the cake topper.I made it with pink gumpaste and then painted it with pink luster dust. I attached it to the cake with royal icing.

I also made 24 chocolate cupcakes and this 3 little ones to use as a decoration.

I hope you like it. Let me know what you think.
